The Twenty One Pilots Concert Experience was “a pioneering interactive virtual concert powered by the latest Roblox technology” and designed in close collaboration with the band. It has become one of the most viewed concert experiences of all time, having amassed since its launch over 14 million views coming from over 160 different countries and ending up nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.
WMG was invited by Epic Games to create an experience using Fortnite’s Creative toolset. French superstar Aya Nakamura collaborated with MADO XR to develop a digital replica of her using MetaHuman Creator, while Unreal Engine 5 was used to build the virtual environments for the music videos that were shown in the game experience, a project which was highlighted by Epic.
As a follow-up to the well-received (80% Metacritic) music-rhythm game Avicii: Invector, WMG teamed up with developer Hello There Games to build a bigger and bolder sequel. The game includes music from a broader range of artists and genres, has a Very Positive (9/10) rating on Steam and already features two expansion packs, one in collaboration with Spinnin’ Records.
The first ever virtual Super Bowl concert featuring Saweetie in partnership with the NFL was the opening ceremony to Warner Music’s first-ever persistent Roblox experience. Becoming the highest-rated concert ever on Roblox at the time, with a 91% player rating, it was watched by over 7.5 million people in one week, ending up winning a Clio, two The Drum Awards and a Webby Award!
The first ever persistent social music experience on Roblox, Harmony Hills has accumulated over 10M visits since its soft-launch in late 2022. The game is a cosy social role-playing experience in a city where the players are the celebrities and where, sometimes, special musical events with the likes of Cher, Maisie Peters, and Bebe Rexha take place.
The first ever musical guest appearance at Roblox’s annual awards - the Bloxys - was the BRIT Award-winning band Royal Blood, which we co-exec produced alongside Roblox. The wider event drew over 6 million viewers and the one-time, limited performance was heralded in publications from NME to Rolling Stone Magazine.
